Summary
This year MiSTER CLASSiC™ oldtimer competition was held earlier than usual, and the participants of Oldtimer Supercup® were expected to ‘mark’ the days of 7-8 September in their calendar. The ones who did it, and entered the competition were soon aware of the fact that it was not only the contest but also the route, the atmosphere and the culinary enjoyment that made it worth coming.
The field covered the almost 500-km route in sparkling sunshine, which conquered new and undiscovered areas. Year after year we can hear the good old – by now already stereotypical – statement.’ It’s been the most amazing route!’ Beauty ‘comes at a price’ as the most beautiful routes usually lead through serpentines and falls. When planning the route the organisers were concerned whether all cars (especially the very old, or weak engine ones) would be able to fulfil the route. All participants were most excited about the smallest and the weakest BMW 600 eprformance. The ladies - dr. Solymosi Tünde and dr. Máté Kinga – on board of the little car proved the ‘boys’ they had nothing to worry about. Not to mention that they were impossible to catch up, they even gained a phase victory.
MiSTER CLASSiC™ is getting more and more popular beyond the country as we have competitors from Austria and also from the Czech Republic. According to the thank-you-letters for the organisers number of Hungarian newcomers summarised MC as a wonderful experience as well as a new hobby. This year again members of Ferrari Owners’ Club Hungary took the field for the challenge-cup and as usual the Ferrari convoy was pretty eye-catching especially in a picturesque scenery like that.
In honour of the year of Olympics organizers prepared large medals. Prizes were distributed in different categories, among which the first prize in the oldest cars category (MC FAV) - this year again - went to the Bertas with their Willis Jeep, 1942.
The Ferrari Owners’ Club challenge-cup in 2012 was graved with the names of Péter Attila and Varga László.
